The Warriors Within: Book 2 The Training

Cal Dunaway and Justin Kallin, along with, the gnome and Grumbles are magically whisked away through a teleport spell made by Elron the Spoiler, the Lich King. Soon, thereafter, the group shows up at Mingin the Nightshade witch's cabin. Mingin has to piece together a puzzle that Kregor, God of Neutral, (formally known as the Mantle) has placed in her lap to help train. The boys are rebelling as they have chores upon chores to do. Little do they know that they are slowing being shaped by the witch. Justin thinks he is going crazy because of hearing voices and seeing a dark silhouette just out of his peripheral vision. Unknowingly, Justin is struggling with an inner demon, Kailin, Lord of Strength, that wants loose. As for Grumbles, the lion, his past is revealed as Mingin (really known as Lloria, Goddess of Magic) finally realizes who and what he is, a rare race of beings of power.Abra Cadabra and Kithra Beal are traveling to meet Salome, a once druid, in hopes that Salmone can answer the troubles of Abra's unpredictable magic that creates more trouble than being helpful. Irvan Battlehaft and his company travel toward Abra in a quest that Aamox, God of the Dwarfs, placed before them in order to help Abra on his own quest.Cal Dunaway, being a mischievous young teenager, slowly succumbs to the curse of the black ring he wears which is cursed with lycanthropy.Sam De'vellie and his hellhound, Torment, are traveling to Fire Mountain to help unearth the body of Colossus, Father of all Gods but are captured by a race of underground dwellers called humiders, a half man half spider. As for Lyissa Coppar, she is bound to help her beloved, Sam De'vellie as he spirals down a path of destruction.Unknowingly, Allon, God of Damnation, has set in motion, a plan that Colossus and the former Grim Reaper, Allon, to find Colossus's body so Allon can resurrect the Father of all Gods. The following is a short excerpt from the book:"Fire. We must use fire. Any type of fire spell." Abra yelled at the two women, mainly Kithra.Kithra sent another spell hoping to delay the creature with flashes of light. "Cover your eyes!"As the spell released from the staff three globes of white lights the size of her fist streaks toward the golem to explode in front of it, which meant to blind the creature. The golem lets out an inhuman howl and stops as it raised both arms in front of it clawing at its wooden face. The thing was at least twenty feet away from it. Janeve sense that this was a good opportunity to strike at it since it was somewhat incapacitated. "Wait! You can't hurt it!" Kithra yelled after Janeve. The warrior woman lets out a war hoot as she charged the golem. Janeve got a good look at the seven-foot-tall creature. The golem stood flexing the wood carapace that served as its body. Arms and legs not straight but formed to have some angles and bends where the knees and elbows are. The chest was broad like a huge tree trunk. The face was the most difficult to understand. Its face shaped closely to resemble a humanoid face but with wood grains, gnarls and wood knots. Of course, this did not stop Janeve from attacking. Her solid chops and slicing proved Kithra was right. Janeve felt every blow reverberate right back into her hands.Letting out another war hoot, Janeve tried another series of blows to the thing's throat since it was exposed. The blind creature tried to defend itself but could not see its assailant. The only indication that Janeve was doing something to it was the creature kept waving its long arms around. Janeve could see small chips and scrapes along the throat area and gave up. She deemed it pointless to continue with the attack as she backs up to stand with the others. Not looking at the other two Janeve replied just a little winded, "That was pointless. I didn't even harm it. It is as if the creature is made entirely of wood.""It is a wood golem. Abra is right, only, fire will help us right...
