Enjoyable read!

Well written, faced paced. Just right! I read this in one day, I couldn't put it down. I look forward to reading the "The Champion" and "The Highlander". I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

Great Book!

I am really not into buying books by authors I have not read before, so I took a chance with this one. Boy, was I glad I did! This book was amazing, and the characters are wonderful. The story didn't drag out and you could feel the love Tristan and Haith shared. I will be reading from this author in the future. I know Heather Grothaus will be on my favs. list.

Winning Debut!!

Tristan D'Argent finally comes to claim the keep that King William had given him only to find that in order to secure his lands he must marry his neighbor's step-daughter, something he has no intention of being forced to do. The marriage becomes even less appealing when he meets his bethrothed's illegitimate half-sister, Haith and falls in love. Haith's father, James, and mother, Corrine, had not been wed, however, they had truly been in love and her father had treated her mother with honor but that didn't stop the hurt they caused his wife, Ellora. Lady Ellora has never forgiven Corrine or James, even after their deaths, and she is now determined to stop Haith from coming between her daughter and her daughter's future husband. If Tristan can't convince King William of the treachery of Ellora and her husband he will be forced to marry Haith's sister. Can he face a future of being wed to the wrong woman, or will he find the proof he needs before time runs out? For a first book, Heather Grothaus hits the ball out of the park! Loaded with emotional depth and a rich historical tapestry, The Warrior is just the kind of historical I love. Tristan is, for lack of a better word, yummy. He has been shaped by his past, and when he finds Haith he's determined to do whatever it takes to hold tight to her. Haith loves Tristan but doesn't want to walk her mother's path and hurt her sister who she truly loves. All of this makes for romance full of angst & joy. Historical romance readers will want to add Heather Grothaus to their list of authors to watch! Melissa Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

Magical Start!

Heather Grothaus is off to a great start with this charming Medieval Romance. It is everything a good medieval romance should be! If you like tales of England & Scotland, knights & warriors, damsels in distress & magical folklore, and also believe we are destined for one true love, then this is the book for you! Tristan D'Argent is the handsome Norman knight that wins Greanly castle from William the Conqueror. Not only is he to win the castle, but a bethrothal to Lady Soleilbert. Lady Haith is the beautiful step-sister of Soleibert. A Scottish faery with magical powers, she is destined for Tristan and no matter how she fights their love because of her love for her sister, true love will not be denied. The love between these two sisters is heartwarming. Of course there are the villians, Lord Nigel and the evil step-mother Lady Ellora, who try to destroy Tristan and Haith's relationship before it can even start. Tristan's friend Pharao Tak'Ahn, an exiled prince from India, is also a very interesting character. All of these characters are woven in this magical story that comes to an exciting conclusion reuniting Tristan with long lost family that just begs to have another book written. I am looking forward to many more books by Heather Grothaus.

A Strong Debut Effort!!!

Heather Grothaus' debut effort "The Warrior" is a wonderful beginning for this talented author. Ms. Grothaus has created some very memorable characters that readers will care about and eagerly want to read about. Tristan D'Argent has safely returned from war and has been given a keep to hold by King William. When he finally arrives it is to a keep that is sparsely populated. He must go and retrieve his people from the man that will become his father-in-law based on the bethrothal agreement William has also confirmed on him. He will do his duty but first he must get the lass that has been haunting his dreams for years out of his heart and mind. Imagine his surprise when he comes face to face with the beautiful lady he has only known in his dreams. He can't explain their connection and really doesn't want to. He is going to keep her safe no matter what may come. Haith has not had an easy life but she has known the love of her aunt, and her half sister. When she finally comes face to face with the man that has haunted her dreams since she was a small girl, Haith is heart broken to find he is already betrothed to her half sister. She will not do as her mother had. She will walk away from her soul mate but Tristan has other ideas. But when one lord plans and schemes the dreams of the would be lovers must be put on hold or all could be lost. Will Haith and her Tristan have their happy ending or will fate keep them apart? The chemistry and tension between Tristan and Haith was superbly met. Readers will be hard pressed to want to put his book down once they start reading it. Ms. Grothaus is off to a wonderful start on her writing career and I eagerly look forward to reading her next effort. A new voice has been found and one readers should really keep an eye on.
