SharToKor, or simply the Colonies was a land destroyed in a nuclear attack. Those that settled there had learned not only to survive but to thrive by using the 'new science'. Manipulating the radiation in a way in which some would see as magic, and some would be able to do this with their mind. Their society would be based around this 'new science.' For centuries, empires rose and fell, and those of SharToKor believed they all who remained of humanity. But then they were attacked by those who still used the old technology. The War Forward is a telling of the heroes that rose in the Colonies to fight the invaders, and in doing altered the native's view of themselves.
