Its great

Richard Thomas makes some show ups, things are a lot more modern, country more stable, things are better so the struggles turn to moving into the late 40s, newer styles, the accelerated modernism that the war brought about thru necessity of innovation. Its an interesting time & you don't have to wonder if the Waltons ever got a real refrigerator!
