The Wages of Sin

Without question, some of the situations I'd gotten myself in don't paint a pretty picture of the Laura Bradley-Hutchins that I used to be. But today, I'm a different person. Besides, whatever I did... This description may be from another edition of this product.

Great Book

A Well written book, a great starter book if it's your first time reading her work (like it was for me). Reading about the different stages of life that these characters were in, and how they got where they are, makes sticking with this book worth-while. This book was the first of Dr. Carter's and I could hardly put it down! It's really good to have a wonderful young Black female author who really knows how to represent her gender and race for what they are: smart, savvy, full of attitude and spirit. You go, girl!!! The Wages of Sin

Dr. Audrey Forest-Carter writes culturally responsive text as she exposes the undercurrent present in the lives of "church people." I was drawn in by the precarious lifestyles of characters, the twists and turns of the plot and was surprised at the way the book ended. Although it is a short read, I look forward to a sequel that might tie up some loose ends; speciffically, will Laura get revenge or will she be an innocent bystander when God intervenes?

Awesome Read!!!

"The Wages of Sin" is an awesome read. The book captured my attention from the inception of the book until the end. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a "great" read. My hope, is that the author will write a sequel to this book.

Simply Awesome

The Wages of Sin is a carefully constructed story filled with conviction, deceit, pride and suspense. In addition, the vibrant, rich dialogue keeps the reader deeply engaged in the lives of the characters. I was so absorbed in the authenticity of the book that I could not stop reading it. In fact, I had a quenching thirst to know what was going to happen next. The author's style of writing is explicit, thus creating powerful imagery for the reader to envision.

As Paris Hilton would say, "It's hot!"

The Wages of Sin is one of the best books that I've read in a long time. The author is such a graceful writer, masterful storyteller and wordsmith. My only complaint is that the book is just too short--137 pages. Although she left no stone unturned in regards to giving readers a full and satisfying storyline, replete with characters that are sassy, REAL, and meaningful, I still wanted to read more, and was truly sad when the book ended. My only hope is that this dynamic author plans to write a sequel!
