It's a light-hearted play - though with a darker side - that doesn't have to be seen on a stage to be enjoyed. The main characters are regulars of Otto's bar in Frankfurt, around 1990 ... All's not well between Otto and Gabi, and Otto's to blame. Meanwhile, Teddy and Derek, two of Otto's regulars, find Manfred's far-fetched yarns entertaining, caring little if they're fact or fabrication. Life for Derek might be more straightforward but for the attractive, outgoing Carola, who has taken a shine to him. But is the aspiring dominatrix flogging a dead horse with her unflinching advances? As for Teddy, alcohol is taking its toll, but quitting isn't an option. Some questions the play asks: Will being in love with a sex-worker inevitably lead to tears? Does it matter if we tell the truth? Is truth what we always want to hear? And what about the things we do to make our lives worth living? Did Manfred really meet Paul* (and Linda*) and George* outside a recording studio in Frankfurt? And what about the fisticuffs? Then there's the bass guitar Manfred claims to have under his bed ...
