Beautifully illustrated bedtime story, perfect for toddlers-preschoolers

"The Very Best Bed" is a cute story about a little gray squirrel who is looking for the perfect bed to settle into. His quest takes him to the lairs of other animals such as a bear, an owl, a red fox, a family of bats, deer, a cottontail rabbit, ducks and geese, seals and a porpoise, a beaver, a chipmunk, and a family of raccoons. In each case, little squirrel decides the bed is not quite for him, before he finally finds one that is just right. The illustrations by author Rebekah Raye are gorgeous, capturing all the little details of the animals, and in full-color, making this book a delight to peruse. My 4-year-old has requested for this many times, especially at bedtime, and the story does lend itself to a soothing read right before bedtime. Highly recommended for toddlers-preschoolers.
