The Vengeance is a dystopian novel about twelve year old Clara Carter in a place called Cerum. On Clara's eighth birthday she find out she has the gift, a power that allows her to see the past or future in her dreams. Unfortunately the governor, the ruler of Cerum thinks people with the gift are dangerous, and send them to the prison of Caligoria to die. When Clara, on her twelfth birthday is taken to Caligoria she is faced with a choice, either tell the governor her dreams about the future, or die. Will Clara chose to tell him her dreams, and in doing that, allow the governor to never be defeated, or with the help of the governor's son Laurence will she be able to defy him?
