Springfield is the setting, a town of about five hundred people in the middle of South Carolina, miles away from the next neighboring town. The community and the culture were near-idyllic, and the events recounted in these stories will trigger memories of an era fast fading out of sight in the rear-view mirror - an era of simplicity and honesty, a time when everybody in town knew each other, when a boy was raised not only by his own family, but by the whole community.
