History comes alive for 4 vandals at the mysterious Treason House

Marie, David, Arnold "Ham", and Isabelle were caught red-handed in the vandalization of an old, abandoned house. Sentenced by the judge to pay for their crime by making repairs to the house they had damaged, the children come to discover a fascinating and vibrant history in Treason House's creaking walls, as well as learning the true cost of vandalism. They are, therefore, alarmed when they learn that the historical Treason House is threatened by 'progress', in the form of an airport parking lot. They have to do something. Was Treason House really a stop on the underground railroad? Was Treason House host to a Revolutionary War traitor and spy? Most importantly, can the children help save Treason House from the wrecking ball or other vandals? I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the children progress from seeing Treason House as an old pile, worthy only of stoking a fire, to loving the house and the history of the people who lived in it and finding it worthy of care and protection. I would love to see this book reprinted.
