Noldobaldo Nowaa's life is irrevocably altered on "New Yuck Day," a holiday dedicated to embracing the grotesque. Following a rodeo dance, he is subjected to a prank where girls throw menstrual pads at him. One of these pads, upon opening, releases a "fairy blood prince." This prince curses Noldobaldo, binding his fate to the ongoing existence of menstruation and the unpleasantness associated with menstrual pads. The curse escalates when the prince begins to physically anoint Noldobaldo's face with menstrual blood every New Yuck Day. Desperate to escape or adapt to his curse, Noldobaldo begins to consume menstrual blood. This act triggers a drastic transformation, turning him into a modern-day vampire. His physical appearance changes significantly: he becomes pale without his regular intake of menstrual blood, and his skin takes on a reddish-pink hue. Further transformations include his hair lightening and then darkening, and a general darkening of his complexion. During a medical examination intended to address these changes, Noldobaldo attacks the doctor in a desperate attempt to reclaim his blood sustenance. He fully embraces his vampiric nature, living nocturnally and feeding on both fairy blood and human blood, forever tied to his bizarre and crimson nourishment.
