I’ve been searching for this art book for 30 years

Omg omg omg—this was literally my childhood art teacher 😭😭😭. The book is just too amazing: it covers every material, painting style, theme… even lettering! I copied every single example in it. Maybe I didn’t memorize the text word for word, but I definitely redrew every image inside.
When I was little, my family couldn’t afford to send me to art classes, so this book was all I had. I just followed it and practiced by copying, using only pencils, ballpoint pens, gel pens, or fountain pens—because we didn’t even have the actual art supplies mentioned in the book. This was literally the entire foundation of my childhood art training
The version I had was a Chinese translation, but I was too young to remember the title. Later, when I went to art school in canada, I realized it must have been written by a foreign author. Still, no matter how hard I searched, I could never find it again. For almost three decades it was just a lost memory.
Then one day, while searching for cat drawing references, I suddenly saw the cover online—the memory came back instantly. Every single thing on that cover, I had drawn before.
And now… I finally got it again in almost perfect condition. Thanks to the author, and thanks to the seller who kept it so well. I honestly cried with joy.
Anyone reading this, you can never imagine how happy I am right now. I’m truly the happiest person on Earth!

My 12 year old son received this as a gift and it's one of the most used books in our house. It covers many different techniques and styles of drawing and is a great starting point for a young artist who really wants to improve and expand!
A class favorite

I borrowed this book for my 8th grade art class and ended up buying it because it was a class favorite. The color drawings are compelling and kids lined up to have it to work with. It has a large variety of topics covered and although it isn't "step-by-step", it is close enough with the breadth and variety of examples being worth every penny.
