The purpose and scope of this book are to systematically present sound biblical doctrine in a way that hopefully inspires you to seek God's truth rather than man's philosophy (Colossians 3:1-4). As you read through the chapters, you will be presented with systematic doctrines followed by a final chapter containing concluding remarks. Each system is arranged in a foundationally progressive order that builds on the previous chapter without abandoning or replacing anything from the first. Much like a house being built on a rock, the rock we start with is the Word of God (the Bible). The following are the systematic doctrines and what each one is about: The Word of God - The Bible's authority, inerrancy, infallibility, and our need.The Trinity -God the Father - Introduces the Triune God and how the Father is distinct.God the Son - Provides Biblical proof of Christ's Deity and how He is distinct.God the Holy Spirit - What the Bible says about the Holy Spirit and how He is distinct.Truth of Man and Sin - The origin and purpose of man and sin.Salvation - How God reconciles man through Christ and the Holy Spirit.Angels and Demons - Angels and demons are discussed.Church - Structure, offices, authority, and mission according to the Bible.Fulfilment of All Things - What the Bible says about the end times.Establishing a Biblical Worldview - Christian ethics and applying the Bible to life.
In the final chapter, we will summarize all the doctrines in one unified conclusion. Remember that you cannot truly understand or appreciate eschatology without first understanding all the other doctrines. Likewise, you cannot have any confidence in your identity before God, sinfulness, or assurance of salvation without knowing each member of the Godhead (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit). As stated before, the only source from which we can read such foundational truth is The Word of God.
