The Unravelling

The Unravelling is a captivating historical fiction set in Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, and the UK during the 1970s and 1980s.
The book depicts the military, political and tribal complexities that led to Rhodesia's collapse as its disenfranchised black population took up arms to break free from their colonial past.
Follow the story of Nick and Sipho, who, during the bush war, served together in the Rhodesian African Rifles and had become stalwart brothers-in-arms.
After being demobilised Nick goes to study in the UK where he falls in love with Rachel Dixon, the daughter of a controversial English businessman.
Sipho remains in Zimbabwe. He is integrated into the new Zimbabwe National Army but becomes the victim of shameful tribal discrimination. He quits in disgust and follows a new calling to help protect the country's endangered rhino herds.
Johannes du Toit, a callous white man and a deserter from the Rhodesian Light Infantry, returns to Zimbabwe to resurrect his poaching activities.
Fate brings these four people together at Mhuka Ranch, where a lethal encounter takes place resulting in three people being shot and killed. The truth of what happened on that fateful day remains unknown to the public but will be revealed to the reader.
