Every Manager's Guide

This book was required reading in a police management course. The first 2 chapters will grab a hold of any manager. Once the tone is set, the rest of the book resembles a road map to successfully dealing with what you thought were the worst aspects of management. He puts the job of management in the most simple terms that can be clearly understood, regardless of the career field. Suters simplifies the most difficult tasks, and when you put his "plan" into action, you wonder why you made things so difficult on yourself before. Buying this book is a solid investment in yourself.

This is a outstanding book told in a fun story

The book makes the point that to manage other people is unnatural and then lays out the thought process that will make you more productive in dealing with those you manage.A quote from the book that sums up his approach is " When a great leaders work is done they will say they did it themselves" It has been 4 years since I read this and it still has a impression on me.
