I penned this book with a four-fold purpose in mind: To raise the blinds; to pull back the curtains; to open a window through which those seeking to understand what it is like to be Black in America could peer through. And in doing so, afford them an opportunity to walk along, what will be for them, an imaginary road that is filled with twists and turns, potholes and pitfalls, strongholds and stumbling blocks. A road that is all too real and all too often traveled by Blacks in America. To destroy the myth of Black inferiority and to educate on Black history. Black history does not begin with slavery in America but is an ancient history full of innovation, artisanship, higher level learning, culture, civilization and so much more. To raise the hope of generations to come so that they will never feel defeated but will live victoriously knowing that not only is their present and future great but that they come from a history of greatness. To help pave the road to healing and forgiveness for this nation; to help heal its soul and in doing so help to heal the soul of Blacks in America.
