Book Overview

An insight on the life of Jesus Christ between the ages of 12 and 29 and the journey of the man who sought out, translated, and later published the details of these missing years.

Nicholas Notovitch was a Russian journalist and explorer who, during his travels through India, learned of the relationship between Buddhism and Christianity. He also heard of Prophet Issa, a man of Jewish origin who lived in Palestine and Egypt, and the Tibetan scrolls chronicling the prophet's time in Asia.

Nicholas was determined to visit all the Tibetan monasteries to learn more about Prophet Issa, and hopefully find the sacred scrolls. This is the start of the journey from which we will ultimately learn of the lost years of Jesus Christ.

The details Nicholas gives of his time in India paints a picture of the landscapes and people that truly sets the scene for the translated scriptures. And while the authenticity of the documents is still debated today, this book remains both illuminating and thought-provoking.

Surprised my stance on my faith.

I think people who are very traditional Christian will read this and think as heresy. But reading this actually strengthened my faith even further. We can never go back and witness the events of Jesus, we only hear from testimony and this is yet another testimony. There isn't much said in this book that conflicts with the bible but rather fills a missing gap. The words supposedly spoken and the actions supposedly performed from Jesus or Issa sound alike to that found in the bible. I don't want to spoil anything but the incredible acts this book claims our lord has done brought tears to my eyes like the stories I read in bible study. Not only did this strengthen my faith but also revealed He did more for the world than just the holy land not to mention the incredible detail of the beautiful land visited by Nicolas Notovich and the interesting insight into the culture of the people of Tíbet and North India.
