Easily the best novel of 2009

This book is serious. This book is funny. This book is full of real meaning. You need to read this book. The people, the aquatic ape, the situations and the water can not be ignored. Rotter has made a book that no one can ignore, an extremely timely book that has a strange timelessness. One of the best meditations on ideas and information in general. Buy many of these books NOW.

Great Book

This book take a good look at our post 9/11 world prospective with great intelligence, humor and introspection. The authors ability to see two sides of the same story made an interesting juxtaposition and kept me turning pages. I hope this author has more for us to read in the future.

Brilliant

I really enjoyed this book. If you like lovable psychotic protagonists and homeland security you will like this book!

Intelligent insanity.

This book is great fun, and a nice escape from our everyday existence while at the same time deeply, oddly, and sadly, rooted in our crazy, everyday existence. If you enjoy mythology, politics, CNN and the ocean, then you should read "the Unknown Knowns." It's like swimming through a Georgia O'Keefe painting, and colliding into Anderson Cooper along the way. It is quirky, intelligent, and often laugh-out-loud funny.

Read this book!

THE UNKNOWN KNOWNS is hilarious, topical, fast-paced, incredibly well-written, and (in the end) unexpectedly moving. If you love any of Pynchon, Vonnegut, O'Toole, Lipsyte, Boyle, etc. -- you will love this book. If you're interested in America, like to read, or enjoy spending time in the water -- you will love this book. In short, THE UNKNOWN KNOWNS is a fantastic novel and I think you should read it.
