Prophet Enoch, who was the first to write with pen said "The real joy of life is to have wisdom". This book is completely and painfully true, with a tragic, yet inspirational outcome that reflects not only my own experiences with US Immigration, but the experiences of thousands of others in search of an "American Dream" that is terribly skewed and falsified. This story is about an upstanding, successful, and well-respected businessman, who while recovering from a shooting incident is taken by ICE agents to be deported from the country he loves after 20 years serving as an upstanding citizen, never once committing a crime. The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing in the face injustice. What I have been through has given me the desire to do what I can to make the world a better place to live, for myself and for generations to come. The saying goes, "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger", and I would like to manifest this phrase through this book. Writing has been a form of therapy for me when there was no one to talk to, and I have found that words are more powerful than any drug in helping ease my pain and keep me going. The aim in describing my unbelievable experiences is not just to tell stories, but to teach the morality behind them, to promote peace and cultural understanding, and to pinpoint universal issues that need to be re-thought. Without passion, everything in life is pointless.
