Great for beginners

This is a great book for the beginning astronomy student. It covers nearly every topic relating to astronomy, from the earth itself, to our solar system, to cosmology, though none of them appear to be in great detail. I read this book for a class, but would have read it for fun.

Astronomy Textbook

Excellent introductory astronomy textbook, appropriate for college course for non-science majors. Clear descriptions of current topics in extragalactic astronomy and cosmology especially.
