Written by Nana Annan, the wife of the United Nations Secretary-General, Kofi Annan. It's short, and a great book to read to kids. It explains the purpose of the United Nations, using examples of people that Nana has encountered through the years. It shows children that the group exists to help prevent war, feed hungry people, and help children go to school, among other things. Far too many people in our country think poorly of the United Nations, while it's actually done a great deal to help people around the world. This book helps explain that to children. Propaganda? Sure. But the good kind.
