I found this book very inspiring. Cleta has lived a very interesting life that has now spanned many decades, settings, and locations. The Oregon Historical Society has catalogued her journals, and she recently applied to be included in The Guinness World Book of Records for journaling. Most entries in this book are addressed to "Aunt Sarah," Cleta's Guardian Angel. What I found most inspiring about this book, the third in her series of published memoirs, is the telling of her son coming to terms with the sexual abuse of his own father. Portions of this book are even written by her own son, so it is something of a "shared journal" in some places. And it is quite blunt about some of the difficulties Ms. Lee's son went through. It contains what I found to be a very moving description of her son's attempts to recover from what he had suffered, and to forgive his father for having abused him. I found the inclusion of this topic to be very courageous. Their work with Al-Anon is also mentioned in this book. I think this book would be of interest to anyone who enjoys the memoirs of others, as well as those interested in recovery. It is of particular interest to the residents of the state of Oregon. I have enjoyed attending Cleta's classes on journaling, and I hope others will be similarly inspired as I have been by her work.
