Peter & Kori go mainstream, and do it well.

The second in the Peter and Kori Brichter mystery series, the events in this book actually take place before those in Knight Fall (originally Murder at the War). The first book suffered somewhat from its esoteric setting (and I say that as a former SCA member myself); in The Unforgiving Minutes, the more mundane setting allows Pulver's plot, characters and gritty realistic style to shine through. This title is the hook that will draw a reader in to the series; one begins to care how the characters will develop and what happens to them after the final chapter.
