Karen Richards finds herself on death's door after suffering a paralyzing stroke. Her only comfort is her belief that death will reunite her with her soul-mate, Bill, but through a visit from one of her daughters, Susan, Karen's guardian angel reveals himself to her and informs her that God has decided her soul will not be recycled. As Karen's soul is forced to travel with her daughter, her hurtful past behavior begins to reveal itself, but she refuses to accept responsibility for her actions. While the story focuses on Karen's daughter's memories, we come to understand how Karen's actions harmed her children emotionally which led her down a path that would split her family in half and result in her damnation. Can an unforgivable soul be forgiven?
