The Underground Vault: An Underground Hip-Hop Monthly: Volume 1, Issue 8.

Important: Hardcover = full-coloured glossy pages. Paperback = matte black and white.

Issue 8 Love how this one came together. This issue started with a conversation with House Shoes, the legendary and iconic DJ and hip-hop historian from Detroit. Eager to document his early years with crews such EMIXO, 31 Flavaz and Laswunzout, I knew that this issue was naturally going to take a Detroit focus.

Not only have I dug into the vaults to transcribe past interviews with Nolan The Ninja, Journalist 103 of The Left and Big Tone (FKA Hodge Podge), all of which hail from the D, but I also had the pleasure of having a conference call with all living members of EMIXO; House Shoes, Zo and Lokee. For what it's worth, this conversation is the star of the issue, and in my opinion, one of the best rap interviews of the year.

Additionally, check for interviews with Autopsy of San Diego's Masters of the Universe, Sacred Geometry's Dagha and Mike P (formerly of The Electric Company / Project Move out of Boston), comedian and podcast host Sam Buck, EDF's Khrist Koopa, Toronto's Slumber Logic as well as the extra dope and talented AJ Snow.

The issue's stacked. Nuff said. See you next month.
