i recommend this book!

ever since i was little i've heard of the infamous son of sam/david berkowitz, even though i was not born during his reign. and, ever since i've heard his name, i've heard that he thought demons possessed him, dogs were devils, and that he acted alone. i've also heard a great deal about how he's crazy...but after I read this book it opened my eyes. I now whole-heartedly believe david did not act alone. I also feel rather foolish that I was so easily deluded, and I want to laugh when people tell me he thought dogs were devils. now, next time someone tells me that i'll be sure to recommend your book.one of the greatest reads.(the author, maury terry, did an outstanding job!)

Makes you realize that evil is a very real thing!

I first read this book in 1986, while working with an investigative team in cult crimes. I was amazed at the link between all of these groups, but you have to realize that satan himself works all over, in who ever will open up to him. I have my own theories regarding the son-of-sam murders & don't think that Mr. Berkowits acted alone. It will keep you reading and on the edge of your seat.

"A Story That Has No Equal"

Years ago when the first edition of "The Ultimate Evil" came out, most people found it a journalist flight of creative fancy on a most nortorious crime spree dealing with Manson, Berkowitz and Satanic Cult Group connections. Today... more and more "The Ultimate Evil" seems to go deep within the fiber of America's Psyche and shows just how real it is. I think Mr. Terry was right on the mark from the beginning as well as the dedicated people still out there gathering the truth of just how widespread this may extend. I would give this book an extra "*" star for good measure.

This book was scary because it's true and kept me reading

I though this book was very well written. I takes you into the mind of David Berkowitz and reveals how his killing were not comitted by him alone and also take you into and entire cross-country cult that was responisble for many different murders.

The best research ever done on this subject.

This book attempts to pull together many loose ends never previously considered to be inter-related and now that David Berkwitz is coming out publically with facts he only revealed to Maury Terry in private sessions, gives this book more crediblity. Also, most of the detectives agreed with the author about the cases he was weaving together in a complex network of crime and satanism. This is a must have book for any true crime reader.
