Old Mat Foley was a powerful, rich, and ruthless land owner in Kentucky in the early 1800's. Despite all his power, he was kicked out of his valley by the settlers because he had a young boy whipped and killed for trespassing. Mat's dynasty in Kentucky was over, but west of Louisiana lay the rich territory of New Spain, enough land to satisfy even his own greed. Mat's wagon train had to pass through the Twilight Zone, a vast godforsaken tract of land that separated Louisiana from New Spain. Waiting for him and his men were a gang of degenerate cutthroats, a sinister gang who called themselves the Twilighters, who were determined to get the $60,000 that was on Mat Foley's wagon train.
