The Turner Diaries is much more than an action-adventure novel: It warns us of how American society might unravel if the immigration and racial policies being pursued then -- which are being pursued to an even greater extent today -- were allowed to continue. The Turner Diaries first appeared in the newspaper Attack in serialized form starting in 1975, with one chapter appearing each month. It was published as a book in 1978. The second edition was released in 1980. It is set in what was then the future -- the 1990s. This third edition was originally released in 2019 and remains set in the 1990's. It contains an Afterword in which Dr. Pierce explains what motivated him to write The Turner Diaries and provides his own thoughts on the effect the book has had.

The book follows the adventures of underground fighter Earl Turner, as described in his personal diary, discovered 100 years after the revolution that swept away a corrupt and tyrannical regime, delivered America back to its people, and remade the world.

This could only inspire the already radical.

I wish I could have obtained a copy before the namby-pamby disclaimer in front. Who knows, it might be there as a promotion. Anyway, I read this book from cover to cover. I probably would not have read so much if it weren't for the reviews being so polarized. Just as self-help books only help those people who already like self-help books and just add more to their stack, just like the positively inspired who go to a Norman Vincent Peale, this book will do nothing for those individuals who are not previously motivated either way. By using a diary form, it is possible to put in random thoughts in any order and not have to make a consistent plot (oops, I did not mean to say plot), story. This still gets the essence of the reasoning out. As Ayn Rand pushed that "the hand cannot work without the head," the theme in this book is that action not only speaks louder than words but also, in most cases, words are meaningless and corrupt. A good example is the term "affirmative action." If it meant not to be selective of people by race, religion, etc. Then there would be no boxes to check off with this information. So, if you are using George Orwell’s 1984 attitude, "love is hate." Then "affirmative action" would say to be sure to ask if they are a different race, religion, etc. An Ayn Rand book that comes close to the same environment is "We the Living" ISBN: 0451187849. Just put the number in the search box and click OK. It was so depressing that I did not finish it. I cannot believe that anyone would want to compare this book to Mein Kampf ISBN: 0945001193. That is like comparing a moped to a Mercedes. The time-space is completely different. The writing styles are different. The purpose is different. One is fiction that was designed to inspire (or maybe just to sell books). The other was a real slice, with suggested options (well within realistic goals). The only thing that they have in common is saying to stop trying to force foreign or artificial environments on people. The bottom line is, if you work for the Post Office, please do not read this book.
