In a world where material gifts are often promoted as the ultimate expression of love, the most rewarding gift, and one we can all afford, is the gift of listening.
When was the last time someone poured their heart out to you without you interrupting, criticizing, or judging them?
And when was the last time you shared your deepest thoughts with someone who listened, truly listened without interrupting, criticizing, or judging you?
As you reflect, consider this-we all have a burning desire to tell our story, express our feelings, and share our experiences. Yet most of us rarely get the chance to do so. And even if we do, finding someone willing to listen is rare. Many hear us, but few listen.
So, I ask you again-"When was the last time someone shared their innermost feelings with you, and you listened?" And when was the last time you poured your heart out, and someone truly listened? Chances are, rarely, unless the listener is paid to listen, or the listener is God.
When you speak, does anyone listen? When someone speaks, do you listen?
"I love the LORD because he hears me; he listens to my prayers. He listens to me every time I call to him."
