With so much interest in refuting the Jesus Seminar, you would think this book of essays by leading Christian thinkers about "the real Jesus" would have met with more acclaim. Contributers include Fleming Rutledge, Diogenes Allen, Alister McGrath and N.T. "Tom" Wright. The essay by the less famous W.V.L. Eversley of Virginia Theological Seminary is outstanding. I took a couple of his classes. He is very concerned about how the illiterate will learn about Jesus in the age of Biblical criticism. He argues that accurate knowledge of Jesus is communicated through art and tradition. This is a very good book. Check it out.
