this book helped me decolonize my paradigm

If you are unlearning colonial history, teaching history, a librarian, or living in the midst of history pick up this book, gently. It is a heavy load. This narrative is packed full of wisdom, story and power. In June the author, Christine Platt, read a chapter a day on her IG live. I tend to struggle finishing books/am a slow reader but this book was so captivating I downloaded the digital copy and finished it in a week. During each evening read Christine shared insight and assigned further reading/google rabbit trails. Each chapter is drenched in unspoken & known historical facts featuring characters that are true to historical documents that you can find on the internet! woah. When you pick up this book, you will also need to pick up a pen and paper and your favorite search engine browser. This book is a piece of literature I will return to again, again & again. Thank you, Christine, for this literary gift. P.S. librarians you are going to want to book her for a visit if she is still doing those.
