The True Fortune Teller is a strange little work fairly obviously adapted from (and partly plagiarized from ) the late 18th century Fortune Teller of Mrs. Bridget. Redacting much of the prior content to introduce a new (and novel) oracle system using the picture of a tree, as well as prognostication by nail shape and color, it is as good as any contemporary fortune telling work, and is presumably dated to around the early 19th century- perhaps the 1830s.It is short, but relatively dense, and speaks of astrological terms and various folk divination.
