The Trouble With Turkey
Seven turkeys. Ten travelers. One oven.
Moira Mercer has planned a surprise for the women she loves: a trip from eighteenth-century Scotland to the modern world they left behind. Their husbands are coming too. The destination? Massachusetts, just in time for Thanksgiving.
The arrangements are thorough. The house is ready. The money is accounted for. An exceptionally patient escort has been assigned to keep everyone together.
Nobody has prepared him for the Highlanders.
Within days, a washing machine has been adopted into the family, a warehouse membership has inspired an oath of allegiance, and a perfectly sensible grocery budget has somehow produced seven turkeys. Moira's husband, Daniel, knows enough about the modern world to recognize trouble. Unfortunately, he also helped buy it.
Then the men discover Black Friday.
They have questions about "doorbusters." Their wives have a wooden spoon. And Tobias Wren, charged with documenting every deviation from the travel plan, is running out of paper.
Beneath the shopping expeditions and kitchen disasters, this journey offers something none of them expected: a chance to share the worlds that shaped them, rediscover old comforts, and fall a little more in love with the people beside them.
But the road through time has never promised to behave-and even the most carefully negotiated return ticket comes with fine print.
The Trouble with Turkey opens Mystic Lee's Highlanders Through Time: The Holiday Chaos Trilogy, a warm, funny time-travel adventure about enduring love, found family, and the hazards of taking Highland warriors holiday shopping.
