This Christian life that we live is a marathon. Our lives here on earth may be filled with challenges and obstacles, but, more importantly, our lives here are filled with hope. Whatever we may face in this lifetime pales in comparison to the heavenly promises that await us. We have one reason and one reason alone for all our hope: Jesus Christ.I Thessalonians 1:3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; 4 Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. There are a good many of us who believe we are living in the last hours of the last days. While we may not know specifically how much time we have left, there is an overwhelming sense that our time here is short. Before I get into the subject matter at hand, I want to clarify something. I will not be setting any dates for the rapture of the church. I will, however, be getting very specific about the possible timing of the Second Coming. I felt it was necessary to state my intentions up front so you're aware and not caught off guard if this is something you feel strongly should not be done. For obvious reasons, if I thought the timing of specific things was unknowable, I would not be writing this. If the Bible told us the timing of specific things was unknowable, I would not be writing this. If the information wasn't readily available in the Bible, I would not be writing this. There is a significant amount of debate within the body of Christ as to when the "church age" began. Did it begin on the cross? Did it begin at Pentecost with the sending of the Holy Spirit? Did it begin after Paul's conversion on the road to Damascus when he was given the commission to preach to the Gentiles? Perhaps an equally pressing question to "when did the dispensations change?" is "why did the dispensations change?"Both when and why are discussed in detail.
