The Tributary

he Tributary chronicles the turbulent transformation of a gifted, young homeless man. For four years, Chris lived in his car and moved from place to place. A chance meeting with a troubled young woman, named Shelby, complicates his life. Shelby and Chris don't like each other; and they certainly don't trust each other. But, they also can't resist each other. Despite their differences, they're forced to rely on one another in order to survive two back-to-back blizzards that trap them in a Cathedral for several days. They emerge after the storms with their belief-systems shaken, and their outlooks about the future substantially changed. A frightening, life-altering experience forces Chris to find his faith and makes him more determined to get off the streets. However, Shelby's seemingly strong veneer crumbles. She becomes angry and resentful over her circumstances. Following an emotional breakdown, Shelby cruelly betrays Chris and runs away. Brokenhearted, Chris struggles to get his own life in order knowing Shelby is stuck in a harsh street-life vortex that will surely destroy her. Will he be able to face starting over without the woman who saved his life?
