The Tree Monkeys is a modern-day fable, not just for kids

This is a powerful story of consequences for unbridled anger and selfishness. It is written without condescending to children. I heard an interview of Ms. Marshall wherein she explained that children can rise to however high you set the bar (for evidence, in our history children were taught to read using the King James Bible and primers with which many adults would struggle today). The illustrations are vibrant, and the characters’ expressions are priceless. The dog seems to serve as the boy’s conscience. Find the bee.
