Beautifully written.

I've read all of Shana Abe's dragon series so far, and I enjoyed them all though I must admit Queen Of Dragons was my least favorite. There are so many reasons why I loved this book, I don't think I can list 'em all. Firstly, there's a solid plot and incredibly believable characters. I felt like I could relate strongly to both Rhys and Zoe, and they were both very unique and 3 dimensional. Zoe's got to be one of the greatest heroines I've read in the last handful of years - she had belief in herself and her own abilities, and the strength to be the savior instead of the one needing to be saved. How often does that truly happen in romance? Convincingly? Pretty much never. Abe is an incredibly accomplished writer - this book has an almost poetic, lyrical quality to it, and every chapter is perfectly pitched and phrased. Between the plotting, well-drawn characters and realistic dialogue, I was blown away by how much I loved this story, and how much I cared about the characters. This is for sure a keeper, in every sense of the word. If you haven't read any of Shana Abe's work, begin at the beginning of this series. It's one of the better paranormal/fantasy romance series out there!

Good Romance! Good Mystery!

It's a fantasy! It's a romance! It's a Mystery! Come meet the shapeshifting Drakons (human to smoke to dragon and back) and those who love and hate them. The Treasure Keeper can be read as a standalone book but it definitely is better to have read the previous three books (The Smoke Thief, The Dream Thief, and the Queen of Dragons). The culture of the Darkfrith drakon has created unintended consequences. Each book introduces us to Drakon women who are both highly intelligent and have great amounts of determination and without whom the Darkfrith Drakon will surely fall to the equally determined and fierce enemy in their midst. Here we meet Zoe Lane and reacquaint ourselves with Lord Rhys Langford. Both are headstrong, loyal and hardheaded. Neither realizes just how much they love one another until it may be too late. One impediment amongst several is the fact she's engaged to marry someone else entirely. Someone she's broken a number of Drakon laws to find. Shana Abe writes a book that makes us care for Zoe and Rhys allowing us to feel their doubts, their love and their gifts and root ferverently that they will be able to overcome what appear to be obstacles designed to keep them separated forever. Shana also raises the curtain a bit and lets us see the enemy then lets it fall back into place. Clues about the last book have been scattered throughout the first four books. Careful readers can pick up on them and begin to put all the pieces together. I'm absolutely on pins and needles while waiting for the fifth and final book to be completed to see if I read the clues properly.

Great Writer

This book was great along with the rest of the series, can't wait for the next one!

LOVED IT!

I have read all the books in this series (several times!) and love them! I liked this book and the 2 main characters. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

Excellent - highly highly recommended

I just finished the Treasure Keeper (had pre-ordered it on my Kindle2, and it came right on time!). I highly recommend it. I thought it was wonderful. I actually liked it better than the third in the series, Queen of Dragons - more satisfying in some way. The relationship between the H/H was so interesting and the secondary characters were strong. I do believe you need to have read the other three books in the series to understand the nuances of the book, but for fans of the Drakon series I think this is definitely a keeper. Kudos to you Ms. Abe. Can hardly wait for the next in the series!
