Barely believable adventures.

The author is unknown; who really knows Marco Polo? This is Yule’s scholarly edition, originally published in the 1870s, and still the gold standard for: footnotes historical commentary textual comparisons medieval geography cross‑referencing Polo’s claims with Chinese, Persian, and Arabic sources A very remarkable book written in the 13th century. Many secrets were revealed when Marco returned. And many interesting explanations of things like the origin of cinnamon. Marco writes well enough about his travels, and you feel that you are there. You can follow the trail if you have a map. He describes the flora and fauna of each region and describes the economics and industry of the region. Example: "The women of the superior class are in like manner free from superfluous hairs; their skins are fair, and they are well-formed." It is interesting to see how little has changed from Marco Polo's 13th century to now.
