Financial Advisor's Opinion

As a financial Advisor, I thought the book was spot on. A quick to the point, comprehensive book that shows a person how to approach the final phase in life. An excellent book that gives you the facts, just plug it in.

The Needed Optimistic Method

As a college professor, I've been entranced at how my own generation has quietly made the transition from a fairly docile Generation X to the first to use home computers to the current crisis: how to deal with the exponential amount of technology that has everyone e-mailing, texting, and calling--but rarely making a one-on-one connection. We went from needing to use our imaginations to keep us occupied to almost feeling overwhelmed at the number of new ways to communicate with the fear of not being able to catch up, catch our breaths, or even catch on. Those issues, combined with a seemingly dilapidated economy and an increasingly isolationist attitude juxtaposed with an imperialist foreign policy, make me wonder whether my generation will ever earn the money the Baby Boomers did or ever be able to retire. This book gives an outstanding context from which to view these questions. While it is centered around the Baby Boomer generation, it provides a malleable and applicable model for every generation's transition from one period to another. A shift in paradigms is always difficult. But the tips provided by Dennis Niewoehner provide a breath of fresh air for all generations making all types of transitions. The scene, honestly, rarely changes. It's the people who do...and, if Generation X is ever to supplant the aging Baby Boomers, we need to follow the ideas described in this book.
