Timothy the Horse discovered there was to be a competition between the mustangs taken from their rangelands. Twenty-five gifted horse trainers would be paired up with a wild horse that was supplied through the Bureau of Land Management. Prize money would be awarded to the winning trainer and the stallions could be auctioned off or adopted by the trainer or interested public. Timothy overheard the several possible assignments for their future, which included being trained as a show horse, racehorse, rodeo competitor, ranch horse or a family-owned horse. Timothy understood that his band was being sent out as missionaries to evangelize others outside their wild horse refuge.
