When the train stops in the middle of the Australian desert not even the drivers can explain it.

There is no communication with the outside world. And as the two-hundred passengers quickly realise, no-one is coming to help them. The train is their world. The heat is monstrous. There is only one currency, one focus: water. But who has control?

The only witness, a solitary dingo watching from the saltbush, curious, attracted by the smell of death. A smell that will be a beacon.And the only way out, a journey across the endless plain through the shimmering heatwaves. And what awaits anyone brave enough to attempt it?
