"Towers of Greed" is a punch in the nose. The plot starts like a jack rabbit and never slows down. I caught two references to turtles, but those were just for the sake of imagery. The writing will never be confused with artsy poetry and there were times I wished an editor would have pulled Lindsay White over and give him a speeding ticket, but the plot kept winding up and the "long con" kept the tension high. Anytime you have multiple hit men lining up to kill one target at the same precise moment, you know you've got plot layered on plot. Sample of prose: "Dixie smiled like she was going to her first prom, having her first orgasm, cheating her first mark, which, Nick recalled suddenly, she was. He felt ridiculously proud of her." Yeah, well, Dixie has her self-interests cooking, too. Between the backhoe-attack scene and a guy who "self-fertilizes" his own property, there are many witty scenes and zinger lines to keep readers smiling as they flip the pages furiously.
The Towers of Greed by Lindsey White

I got involved with the characters and I couldn't put it down. I liked the way everything came together with the who, what, where, when, why and how. The story-line was interesting to me and totally held my attention, which helped make the characters come to life. I also found myself trying to figure the next step, so you know that I must have been entertained. I also like the diabolical side of the plot, which exposed naivety, rivalry. I found this book very satisfying and I was totally surprised that it was a "story" instead of a "documentary", especially since I had no idea of what to expect. I really liked the way that the scenes were painted to have me go to wherever your story-line wanted to take me and the flow was fast-paced and easy to follow, Good job. Looking forward to more adventures with Lindsey White.
