Really Great Book! And the musical is even better!

This is a wonderful book for so many reason's -- a strong girl character -- plus a non-preachy story about the importance of ALL jobs. The musical is wonderful too -- definitely see it if you get the chance. It's a perfect musical for small children. And -- like the book -- adults will enjoy it too. At age three my daughter loved the book and the musical, and she still does one year later.

Emma's father works as a scientist who uses a telescope to search the skies for stars and flying objects, Elizabeth's mother is employed as a jeweler who designs and sells precious jewelry, and Aidan's mother drives racecars in flameproof jumpsuits. In comparison, a young girl in the class has a parent with an apparently mundane job: her father changes light bulbs. Yet as she continues describing a day on her father's job, Mrs. Feeny and her students quickly realize that this girl's father has no ordinary job. This is an adorable and educational book about a girl whose dad is responsible for the very important job of changing the lightbulb at the top of the Empire State Building. I highly recommend it! I also heard that they are turning it into a musical in New York City at the Vital Theatre company in March! Can't wait to hear and see it!
