An enjoyable read!

The story was about Miss Elizabeth Ashton at an age of five-and-twenty, has turned down several marriage offers, lived quietly in Bath with her Aunt Emily. In came Mr. Charles Carlyle, a charming and an irresistible rake, who did not want to get leg-shackled just yet. However, both parties had their well-meaning but interfering relatives, where they found they were in a position only marriage could solve, Charles was willing but Elizabeth was adamant not to, for the reason that the truth might ruin herself. I really enjoyed Ms. Reynolds' (the cover stated this was written by Catherine Reynolds) smooth writing style, its dialogue was intelligent and witty, characters were believable and lovable, particularly the secondary character, Aunt Emily, was simply hilarious with her mis-used vocabularies. The story also dealt with the issue of woman, or lady, who lost their virtues; writer handled it with spirited and occasionally comic approach. The only complaint was Elizabeth's stubborn refusal of marriage dragged a bit too long towards the end that I felt I was starting to loose my focus. Other than that, I think this was a nicely written story, and I recommend it.
