The Third World and the Rich Countries: Proposals to Combat the Global Economic Crisis

This book presents unorthodox and original proposals to promote cooperation between the world's poor and rich countries in combatting the widespread and growing poverty and unemployment which exist in both areas. The authors suggest a new type of Marshall Plan in which increased aid to the poor countries will help stimulate the economies of the rich countries through a feed-back process. The authors also outline programs which Third World countries should institute to promote their peoples' welfare. Finally, the authors propose that the United Nations should organize two world conferences: one to achieve a reduction of poverty in all countries and the second to relieve the over-indebtedness of the developing countries.
