I discovered this author quite by accident. A few weeks ago our local historical society put out an appeal for children's books for the Little Free Library. Since I had a stack of children's books that needed a new home I took them over there. And that is when I found 4 of the books in this series. I was happy to find two of them in large print. After I started #4 in the series I decided that I really wanted to read the books in sequence - so ordered 3 of them. The Third Girl is the first in the series. Blessedly I was able to get a Large Print edition. Molly Sutton is a recently divorced 38 year old woman who decides to move to France to start all over. She buys a house - with at least one cottage when she cleans up and rents out. The village of Castillac appears 'sleepy' but apparently it is not. A young British girl disappears and then it revealed that the girl is the third young woman who has mysteriously disappeared. It is presumed that the British girl - who was a student at the local art school - has been murdered. One thing I really liked about the book is that the author has vignettes of the lives of some of the characters in the book. I really liked that. Although others on Goodreads posted that one of the vignettes was about the murderer - I went back and re-read the first 8 chapters and the first vignette [Chapter 7 - 1987] is actually about one of the other murder suspects. All in all - I found this book to be very delightful and I have already started the second book in the series.
