There are two forms of evolution: physical and spiritual. Contemporary societies that lack understanding of ancient customs often relegate traditional spiritual practices and evolution to the level of superstition. However, spiritual evolution tends to result in liberation of the mind and soul during this life, and the hereafter.
In contrast, the study of physical evolution tends to be an academic endeavor, where paleoanthropologists and others attempt to flesh out the human, hominid family tree. The philosophy and methodologies associated with physical evolution also implies that Earth is the only planet in the universe with life, and humans are the most advanced.
Those who are not practitioners of traditional spirituality are also probably not having specific types of experiences. For traditional practitioners, it is understood that the purpose of creation is for humankind to function as peaceful, loving, divine beings in close communication with nature and ancestry.
