Beautifully written

This book. Wow. My father served in the Pacific theater and of course, he never talked about it with his kids. He did tell my husband some stories, which I learned about many years later, after my dad had died from causes related to drinking a LOT of alcohol. Now I get it. During the course of reading this amazing account, I cried for my dad and for all the people who suffered, were tortured and lived to tell their stories. The kids who died fighting yet another senseless war hit me pretty hard for their parents, as I lost a son (car accident, not war). The stories are conveyed as a matter of fact and very down to earth. Mr Rozell: hats off to you for a stunning narrative about our fathers. And, although I cannot possibly know what they went through, I understand a little bit better.
