The Tethered Academy

By Jay Perez

At Blackspire Academy, dragons are not pets.

They are monsters.

When Rowan Vale arrives at the mountain school, he expects difficult lessons, dangerous training, and the chance to be chosen by a dragon. He does not expect Grimjaw, a colossal black dragon with burning eyes, scarred scales, and teeth like knives.

The moment Rowan is tethered to Grimjaw, everything changes.

While the other students discover powers of wind, shadow, strength, and storm, Rowan receives a gift no one understands: he can see dragon memories.

Those visions lead him toward a secret buried beneath the academy, one that could change everything

Blackspire has ever taught its students.

To uncover the truth, Rowan must face terrifying dragons, ancient halls, and a darkness sleeping deep below the mountain.

Some bonds are chosen.

Others awaken.
