Rognwald sails to T nsberg, a trading village in the former petty kingdom of Vestfold, an area far from the political machinations of Harald in Trondheim. T nsberg has prospered throughout the years, and the people there live peacefully, pagans and Christians alike.
All that changes upon Rognwald's arrival. While he and his men attend a wedding, a high-ranking official is murdered. Rognwald puts his celebrated Law Speaker, Ari Gustavson, on the case for a hasty resolution before Harald catches wind of the misfortune.
